About Andreas Diamantopoulos MD, PhD, MPH
Andreas P Diamantopoulos is Consultant in Rheumatology at the Department of Rheumatology at the Martina Hansens Hospital in Oslo, Norway. He holds a PhD degree from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway and a Master in Public Health from the University of California at Berkeley, USA.
Dr. Diamantopoulos has a deep and long-standing interest on musculoskeletal and vascular ultrasound. He is the founder and director of the first International Ultrasound Workshop in Large Vessel Vasculitis in Kristiansand, Norway, where he established one of the first Fast track vasculitis and musculoskeletal ultrasound clinics. He is a member of the EULAR/ACR working group on Polymyalgia Rheumatica, the European Vasculitis Study Group (EUVAS), the OMERACT group on ultrasound in LVV. For his research activity, he has been rewarded the award for the best clinical abstract in EULAR 2013 in Madrid and two times the travel award of Japanese College of Rheumatology.
His current research is focusing on comparison of ultrasound to other diagnostic modalities in patients with large vessel vasculitis and the use of ultrasound as a diagnostic and follow up tool in large vessel vasculitides and psoriatic arthritis.
