How GE HealthCare assists Players and Physios on the DP World Tour

PoC Ultrasound is the tool which makes a fundamental difference to the care offered for the players.

The European Tour Group of Doctors are very delighted having the partnership with GE HealthCare ultrasound.

Because athletes play in different parts of the world all of the time, having a physician, having a radiologist and having the images and the machines that are there to tell that person right away what's happening is incredibly important rather than someone having to go into clinics further afield to get an ultrasound or an MRI.
Players want the answers now, with the ultrasound we can tell them whether they can play that day or the next day. The athletes really value having diagnostic information on site receiving very specific diagnoses very specific management plan. The Portable Ultrasound Venue Go™ gives them incredible image resolution and it is a real point of care benefit to their players as they are using it when treating they athletes during interventions. The Pocket sized/Handheld Vscan Air™ take it out to the golf course in the buggies and diagnose an injury immediately.

Golf is a very technical sport, the golfers are always after the very best of what they can get in terms of drivers, irons and putters and the doctors supporting them are the same in terms of medical diagnostics and ultrasound, they are always keen to be absolutely forefront of technology and be able to offer the players, our caddies and staff the very best.

At the European Tour Performance Group they have sport and exercise medicine physicians, physiotherapists, strength and condition, performance nutrition, radiologists, hand and wrist experts. Together they diagnose and think about what the players want and then putting it into place with them. But the Europen Tour Group is not only Golf but has great relationships with other sports, like Formula One, Sail GB, tennis, professional football, rugby, the Olympics all are coming to the ETP events, and teaching and sharing the sort of tools used.

Enjoy watching the video why having point of care ultrasound is one of the best tools that team at ETP has in their bag which makes a fundamental difference to the care offered for the players.
