Today we are joined by Dr. Peter Mandl, Consultant Rheumatologist at the University of Vienna. In this podcast, Dr. Mandl discusses expanding the focus on the range of where we look for enthesis structures (the sites where tendons or ligaments attaches to the bone).
Dr. Mandl explains that joints and basic architecture such as bone ends and tendons are easy to scan and are picked up rather quickly by students, however, when they move away from these and start looking into structures in greater detail, the students are faced with a much more complex range of insertions and attachments between other structures.
Dr. Mandl and his team are still in their research stage and aren't ready to implement their data in daily practive just yet: however, it's an area they are continually exploring to understand and learn how reliable they can be.
